For the 2nd time ever, the NCAA Division 1 Women’s championship was decided by one point Sunday. The game also featured two of the best programs in the game over the last decade in Notre Dame and Baylor. ESPN released the overnight rating numbers and, as you’d expect, they were up from 2018.
The game averaged a 2.2 which was a 11% increase over 2018. That number peaked at a 3.4 as the game came down to the wire. The Final Four as a whole (the last 3 games) averaged a 1.6 rating – an 8% increase from last year.
The home markets of Baylor, Austin and Dallas, registered a 4.4 and a 3.8 respectively.
