WJOX Airs Ad For Bama National Title Gear

“WJOX did receive plenty of coverage nationally for the incident, which considering it was a harmless blunder isn’t necessarily a bad thing.”

Following Alabama’s 44-16 loss to Clemson in Monday night’s National Championship game, Crimson Tide fans were tuning in to JOX 94.5 to vent and cope with defeat.  JOX didn’t do those fans any favors by accidentally airing a commercial to sell Alabama championship apparel and celebrate their sixth title under Saban.

“Many Bama fans coming through, getting all their title apparel. What a great win over Clemson for the Crimson Tide. The sixth title in 10 years. Truly amazing. Title number seven for Nick Saban,” the commercial for Academy Sports and Outdoors Store said. “We’re excited to celebrate this incredible victory with you.”

The ad, voiced by Landrum Roberts, co-host of the JOX midday show, 3 Man Front, was obviously pre-recoded and not supposed to air.  WJOX did receive plenty of coverage nationally for the incident, which considering it was a harmless blunder isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
