There are no shortage of homes for boxing in 2018. The fact that HBO won’t be one of those homes is a little striking. The premium cable network may have been the outlet most associated with the sport for the last 45 years. Saturday night, HBO aired its final fight.
Jim Lampley, who has called fights for the network for the last 30 years, delivered not one, but two emotional farewells. The first came on HBO’s airwaves as the broadcast was signing off.

The other cam after the broadcast ended when Fight Hub TV caught up with Lampley.
Lampley’s broadcasting future is unknown when it comes to boxing. If he wanted to continue calling fights, it isn’t hard to imagine outlets like DAZN or ESPN+ making room for him.
