The main bout on Sunday’s UFC Fight Night on ESPN saw Francis Ngannou knock out former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez in Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The three hour ESPN broadcast (9 pm – midnight ET) grabbed a 1.1 metered market rating. The full 5 hour telecast averaged a .9 rating. This means through 3 linear television events from the UFC-ESPN partnership, the World Wide Leader has aired the 3 highest rated UFC telecasts since the start of 2017.
Based on overnight ratings, the main card coverage surpassed that of ESPN’s January 19th broadcast earlier this year – which reached a number executives on both sides were happy about.
The show jumped up 83% from a comparable Fight Night that aired over the same weekend last year on FS1.
