Turner Sports and Twitter will present the 2019 NBA All-Star Game from a new view of the game Sunday when they will be using iso-cams for fan-voted players during the second half.
The first half of play will give fans the opportunity to vote among team captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo as well as superstars Stephen Curry and James Harden. The winner of the vote will have an iso-cam follow him on the court on the @NBAonTNT Twitter live stream. If that player goes to the bench, the live stream will provide highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and other unique camera angles.
Twitter is also using personalized hashtags for each NBA All-Star during the game.
The iso-cam feature will continue through the regular season for 20 more games on TNT broadcasts.
The NBA leads the sports industry with 27.6 million Twitter followers. This partnership has the potential to evolve into a unique opportunity for fans to enjoy basketball and their favorite superstar players in a brand new way.
“NBA Twitter is one of our most passionate communities and the collaboration with the NBA and Turner is the perfect way to even further engage fans,” said TJ Adeshola, Twitter’s head of U.S. sports partnerships, in a statement. “We’re very excited to put the power in the hands of #NBATwitter to vote for who they want to watch through a game changing live video experience alongside the conversation.”
