Tiki Barber Heading to Broadway in January

Barber is set to have a six week run on the Tony Award winning Kinky Boots, beginning January 21st.

Former All-Pro running back for the New York Giants and current CBS Sports Radio host, Tiki Barber is headed to Broadway to perform in Kinky Boots.

“I am so excited to be making my Broadway debut in Kinky Boots,” Barber said in a statement. “I was very fortunate to be part of the New York Giants for 10 years and feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway.”

Wearing thigh high red boots, Barber appeared on Good Morning America, co-hosted by his former Giants teammate, Michael Strahan to announce his Broadway debut.  Barber is set to have a six week run on the Tony Award winning Kinky Boots, beginning January 21st.

Barber, playing the role of Don, will perform three musical numbers, “What a Woman Wants,” “In This Corner” and “Raise You Up/Just Be,” written by Cyndi Lauper.

Tiki retired from football in 2006, following the two best years of his career with a highly anticipated future in broadcasting.  After a disappointing stint with NBC and a failed attempt at returning to the NFL in 2011, Tiki has since rebuilt his image, developing the successful post-retirement career many expected.

Barber will continue to co-host “Tiki and Tierney” with Brandon Tierney on CBS Sports Radio throughout his six-week tenure on Broadway.
