Super Bowl Halftime Draws Over 50 FCC Complaints

“No fine has been waged upon CBS, but the FCC did levy a $550,000 penalty on the network the last time bare nipples were shown during halftime, so stay tuned.”

15 years removed from the Janet Jackson “Nipplegate” scandal, during a game also broadcast on CBS, the network could once again be in trouble due to its Super Bowl halftime show.

As first reported by SB Nation and Deadspin, the FCC received over 50 complaints relating to Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine taking off his shirt.  Viewers filing complaints with the FCC is nothing new, especially for an event like the Super Bowl, but more than 50 is a considerable number even for football’s biggest stage.
