Starting Monday May 6th, the city of Indianapolis will have a local sports radio show to listen to on WFNI 1070 and 107.5 The Fan. Replacing ESPN’s network programming of Golic and Wingo will be The Fan’s midday show, hosted by Jeff Rickard and Big Joe Staysniak.
Moving from their 10am – noon timeslot, Rickard and Big Joe will add an hour to the show, airing weekdays from 7 – 10am. This marks the second major change of the year for The Fan, which saw Rickard partner with Staysniak in late January, replacing Big Joe’s longtime co-host host, Michael Grady.
“We are thrilled to give Indianapolis sports fans a place to start their day talking about the Colts, Pacers, IU, Butler and everything else going on in the wide world of sports,” said VP of Emmis Indianapolis, Bob Richards in a statement. “We’re also excited to bring an extra hour of local programming every weekday on The Fan.”
Staysniak, a six-year NFL offensive lineman has been with the Emmis owned radio station since they flipped to an all-sports format in 2010. Rickard, a 20-year sports media vet, joined WFNI in 2015 where he also holds the title of program director.
Tony Donohue will depart The Ride with JMV, which broadcasts weekdays from 3 – 7pm, to join The Fan’s new morning show as producer and on-air contributor. Taking over the 10am – noon timeslot for 1070 and 107.5 will be The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.
