iHeartMedia announced a partnership with the Orlando Apollos of the newly formed Alliance of American Football league which launches one week after the Super Bowl.
Apollos games will be heard on iHeartMedia’s Real Radio 104.1 FM with News 6 Sports Director, Jamie Seh serving as the team’s play-by-play voice. Seh will be joined in the booth by ESPN college football analyst Rene Ingoglia and 96.9 The Game sports radio host Jerry O’Neill along with Frank Lovre as the broadcast engineer.
“I am beyond excited and honored to be the ‘Voice of The Orlando Apollos,’” said Seh. “To be part of this outstanding broadcast team, having the chance to work with legendary coach Steve Spurrier and the amazing football talent in The Alliance, is like a dream come true. I cannot wait for launch in February and look forward to announcing many, many thrilling moments in the Apollos’ inaugural campaign. It’s going to be a special season.”
Each broadcast will offer 30-minute pre and postgame shows, featuring players and Apollos’ head coach Steve Spurrier. Spurrier will also contribute to a weekly radio show hosted by Seh on iHeart’s 96.9 FM The Game every Thursday at 7pm.
“I could not be happier about our marketing and content partnership with iHeart and the outstanding group of professionals that will be calling The Apollos’ action this spring,” said Apollos’ team president Mike Waddell in a statement. “In Jamie, Rene, Jerry and Frank, we have a group of talented broadcasters who each bring something special to the broadcast, which will result in a one-of-a-kind sound and an energy level that will be second to none.”
The Alliance of American Football League was founded by NFL Hall of Fame executive Bill Polian and TV producer Charlie Ebersol, son of former NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol. The league kicks off with eight teams playing a 10-week regular season schedule beginning February 9th on CBS.
