For the 2nd year in a row, the NHL Network’s flagship studio show, NHL Now, had a broadcast featuring only women Tuesday night.
“I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that done on any sports platform before, where they’ve intentionally made it all women – the hosts and the analysts but also the correspondents,” beamed Jamie Hersch, who anchored the show alongside Jackie Redmond with Kendall Coyne Schofield reporting.
Hersch went on to explain that she appreciated the show’s lack of bells and whistles.
“We still talked hockey, we previewed the games that night and had some fun in the meantime. It was a very standard show. The special thing was that it just happened to be women talking hockey.”
