The second round of the NBA playoffs has been a ratings winner for ABC and ESPN. Nielsen has the 11 games on the two networks in 2019 averaging a 4.2 rating. That is up from a 3.5 in the same round last year and a 3.4 in 2017.
It is ESPN and ABC’s highest rated round 2 since 2012. That’s saying a lot considering that it is the first time since 2010 that Lebron James’ star has not been able to carry the early rounds of the playoffs.
The final game of the round drew a 4.8 rating yesterday as the Trail Blazers knocked off the Denver Nuggets in an exciting game 7. The NBA Playoffs resume on ABC and ESPN on Tuesday. The two networks will carry every game of the Western Conference finals between Golden State and Portland.
