Fox Sports Radio anchor, Isaac Lowenkron has been named the radio play-by-play announcer for California State University Bakersfield Roadrunners men’s basketball. The announcement was made by CSU media rights holder Learfield and Roadrunner Sports Properties.
“I am delighted to join the Roadrunner family,” said Lowenkron, “particularly at such an exciting time in the rise of the men’s basketball program, and to get the opportunity to speak to a passionate and growing fan base. I encourage everyone to come out to the Icardo Center this season to contribute to the roar of the crowd that will thunder out of radios throughout Bakersfield and beyond.”
In addition to his work as an update anchor for Fox Sports Radio, Lowenkron is a veteran play-by-play announcer having called college and professional athletics for Westwood One and Sports USA Media. Lowenkron also worked as a fill-in radio announcer for the Los Angeles Clippers while serving as their pregame and halftime host on AM 570 LA Sports.
“We are fortunate to have Isaac join the ‘Runner family,” said Ziggy Siegfried, Director of Athletics at CSUB. “His passion, skill, and experience make him the perfect fit here at CSU Bakersfield.”
Lowenkron takes over for Jon Doss, who served as the CSU men’s basketball radio voice for just one season before moving to Cleveland joining local ABC affiliate WEWS Channel 5 as a sports anchor. The CSU Roadrunners tip-off their men’s basketball season on November 9th. News Talk KERN 1180AM and 96.1FM serves as the CSU Bakersfield flagship radio station.
