Jemele Hill and Spotify announced a partnership to produce a podcast titled Unbothered beginning in March. The announcement was made on Tuesday at CES in Las Vegas.
Since being moved off the 6pm edition of SportsCenter nearly one year ago, Hill has kept to mostly written content, first with ESPN’s Undefeated and later The Atlanticafter fully parting ways with The Worldwide Leader in September.
“Jemele is an important voice in sports, race, culture and politics, and their intersection in media,” said Spotify Studios head Courtney Holt. “She will bring her unique point of view to our platform with Unbothered, which is sure to be a favorite of listeners with diverse interests and viewpoints.”
Unbothered will serve as a platform for Hill to discuss a wide range of topics. “It won’t be a sports podcast, FYI. I’ll dip into here and there. It’s an everything podcast,” Hill tweeted shortly after the announcement.
“Spotify and I are very like-minded,” Hill said in a statement. “We both believe in being bold and authentic. I am thrilled to get the opportunity to stretch myself in a much different way, with a support system that I believe will bring out the best in me. I look forward to sharing my perspective and experience with Spotify’s many listeners across the world.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, episodes of Unbothered will be released semi-weekly, ranging between 60-75 minutes each. Hill will be joined by a rotating cast of co-hosts and high-profile guests on the new project with Spotify.
