Ian Begley Leaving ESPN For SNY

“Begley will exclusively cover the Knicks as the team pursues top tier free agents and also could be in line for the top pick in the NBA Draft.”

SNY is preparing for what will be a pivotal summer for the New York Knicks by hiring NBA reporter Ian Begley away from ESPN. Begley will exclusively cover the Knicks as the team pursues top tier free agents and also could be in line for the top pick in the NBA Draft.

Andrew Marchand of The New York Post reports that SNY has had its eye on Begley for a while, but he may not have been their first choice. Marchand says SNY reached out to Frank Isola, after he was let go by the New York Daily News. He declined, citing a busy schedule, which now includes Around the Horn, the morning show on SiriusXM’s NBA Radio, and writing for The Athletic.

“Getting a guy like Ian for us is a home run,” SNY’s VP of Content Development Brad Como told Marchand.
