Whether or not you think highly of Hope Solo, her life is interesting enough to be immortalized on the silver screen.
Argent Pictures – backed by Drew Brees, Tony Parker, Michael Finley and Derrick Brooks – has announced the Solo biopic to be directed by Christine Crokos.
“Hope is an amazing athlete with an intense competitive spirit who has achieved some of the highest accomplishments in women’s soccer as a professional goalkeeper,” exclaimed producer Ben Renzo. “Her journey to becoming an elite athlete and one of the best soccer players at her position is incredibly motivating, and that’s what makes this story special to us.”
Solo came from humble beginnings before developing into arguably the best women’s keeper the world has ever seen. Her ascension was not without controversy. In 2007 she turned to the press to criticize her coach and teammate during the World Cup. Off the field, she’s been tied to several violent encounters with family members, including her own nephew and NFL Tight End Jerramy Stevens.
