ESPN3 is giving NBA fans multiple alternative looks at the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers on March 1.
The traditional broadcast of the game will air on ESPN that night. ESPN3 will offer basketball fans a “Full Court Press Second Spectrum” presentation. NBA Advanced Stats produces Second Spectrum presentations.
There will be three different modes for fans to watch online. Coach mode will feature on-screen play diagrams and focus heavily on what plays are called and why. Player mode will feature above the rim camera angels and on-screen graphics showing each player’s scoring probability in real time. Finally, mascot mode will be a more fun presentation with graphics triggered by made or missed shots.
“We’re excited to present a completely distinct and innovative way to watch a highly-anticipated NBA game to fans,” ESPN executive vice president of event and studio production, Stephanie Druley said in a press release.
