This weekend, ESPN will once again team up with Sky Sports to bring Formula 1 to American Viewers. Live coverage of the Rolex Australian Grand Prix will air on ESPN at 1:30 am ET Sunday morning.
Leading up to the race, stateside Formula 1 fans can catch On the Grid, the Sky Sports produced pregame show. ESPN will also bring Sky’s Pit Lane Liveinto it’s programming fold this year, which should air every race day.
F1 returned to ESPN and ABC last year and was well received. Races had aired on the Worldwide Leader from 1984 to 1997 before American interest seemed to wane. This weekend’s race will air commercial free, and will certainly have the attention of ESPN executives eager to see if the late night time slot gets any traction with American F1 fans.
