ESPN Hires Elle Duncan As SportsCenter Anchor

Television sports veteran Elle Duncan is joining ESPN as an anchor for SportsCenter, according to ESPN Media Zone. She will start on May 9.

During the past two years, Duncan has worked as an anchor, host and reporter for the New England Sports Network (NESN) in Boston. Prior to that she worked in her hometown of Atlanta for WXIA-TV, the Atlanta Hawks, and Comcast Sports South.

Her broadcasting career began in 2003 as an entertainment reporter on former Atlanta sports radio station 790 the Zone, and in 2005 she kicked off a seven-year career as an on-air personality with Atlanta hip-hop station V103. She also hosted pre-game, halftime and post-game shows for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network in 2010-2011.

“As someone who grew up in sports and having loved sports my entire life, I’ve always appreciated what ESPN brought with the talented group of people who worked there and the personalities,” said Duncan.

“ESPN was the first entity and remains one that marries its own personalities and sportscasting with entertainment, and I feel that ESPN has always been ahead of the curve in that sense,” she said. “I think of myself to be the same way – someone who loves and enjoys sports and wants to talk about them in a knowledgeable but entertaining way, and to me this truly is a dream come true.”
