The 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin today and ESPN is making sure fans will have a deeper experience this year with a bevy of exclusive content on the digital streaming service ESPN+.
The most prominent feature ESPN+ will employ for it’s digital coverage of the NHL Playoffs is a docu-series titled Quest for the Stanley Cup. Premiering May 3 for its second season, the weekly on demand series will be produced by Ross Greenburg Productions in association with NHL Original Productions and narrated by Emmy and Tony Award-nominated actor Bill Camp. Quest for the Stanley Cup will take fans on an in-depth journey with the final eight teams with exclusive looks into locker rooms and the minds of players and coaches every Friday through the crowing of the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions.
Although the actual live games will broadcast, or stream digitally, by way of NBC Sports and its affiliates, ESPN+ will host on-demand replays of each playoff matchup as soon as they conclude.
Linda Cohn and Barry Melrose’s recap show In the Crease returns for a second playoff run of its own. Episodes will drop the morning following each game night during the playoffs. The show was also a staple feature in ESPN+’s “Battle for the Playoffs” run that began in early March.
