For the next 6 years, Big East fans will continue to see a select amount of their regular season games on CBS. This is thanks to the sublicense extension the network agreed to with FOX this week.
Ever since the conference reshaped itself in 2013 FOX Sports has been the home of Big East hoops thanks to a 12 year primary rights contract. Several months after FOX inked that deal (which gave them over 100 games a year) CBS reached a sublicense agreement with their competitor earning up to 30 games a season.
The new extension will limit CBS’ rights to 20 games each over the next 6 seasons. As many as four games a year will air on CBS with the vast majority slated for CBS Sports Network.
