Cassidy Hubbarth is staying at ESPN despite attempts from Yahoo and Turner to woo her away. Andrew Marchand of The New York Post reports that ESPN has both television and digital plans for Hubbarth.
She will continue to be a studio host for college football on both ESPN and ABC, but it is NBA coverage where her job gets interesting.
Hubbarth will remain on the NBA sidelines for game broadcasts. She will also continue to be a part of special event broadcasts like the NBA Draft Lottery and next weekend’s All-Star Celebrity Game. ESPN is adding another hosting gig to Hubbarth’s plate and it isn’t on television.
She will be the host of Hoop Streams on Twitter. The show will be a thirty minute pregame show that will air every Saturday before ABC’s primetime game.
“It kind of takes on a life on its own on social media,” Hubbarth said of the NBA. “Every day there is something meme-able or GIF-able.”
Hubbarth added that the new responsibilities have created “a dream job” for her.
