Barstool Sports‘ brand may not be for everyone, but the people that are in are all in. At least, that is the thinking that lead to today’s announcement that the site is launching a premium subscription service called Barstool Gold. The company unveiled the new product with a manifesto delivered by El Presidenté himself, Dave Portnoy, in Times Square.
That was supplemented with a Twitter thread from Barstool CEO Erika Nardini saying that the service was created to ensure that funny people still have a place to be funny.
There are two levels of subscription for Barstool Gold. The $1 per week plan gives subscribers plenty of exclusive content including video podcasts and exclusive episodes of the company’s podcasts. The $2 per week version also includes invitations to subscriber events and tours of Barstool HQ.
