Another Last Chance U Player Makes The NFL

“After the draft Ollie was invited to the Oakland Raiders rookie minicamp where he earned his first NFL contract.”

Netflix’s hit series Last Chance U has added one more to the list of season one alumni to sign with an NFL team. By way of East Mississippi Community College, Nicholls State defensive tackle Ronald Ollie signed as an undrafted free agent wit the Oakland Raiders Monday.

Ollie was one of the series’s brightest stars as his lovable personality as a good kid with bad luck who wanted to do better thrust him into many of the show’s more memorable moments of Last Chance U’s inaugural season.

In his career at Nicholls State, Ollie recorded 74 total tackles, 20 for loss, 7 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries (one he returned for an 84-yard touchdown) and a blocked kick.

Ollie was not invited to participate at the NFL Combine. The 6’2”, near-300 pound defensive tackle took advantage at his Pro Day as he ran a 4.87 40-yard dash, hit a 35-inch vertical leap and a 114-inch broad jump.. His 40-yard dash and vertical leap would have been top 10 for defensive tackles at the Combine.

After the draft Ollie was invited to the Oakland Raiders rookie minicamp where he earned his first NFL contract.

Ollie joins Jacksonville Jaguars safety C.J. Reavis and Chicago Bears quarterback-turned-cornerback John Franklin III as Last Chance U alumni in the NFL.
