US Women’s National Team forward Alex Morgan will join FS1’s MLS coverage this Sunday. She will be a guest analyst during halftime of the match between Seattle Sounders FC and the LA Galaxy.
Morgan’s appearance serves two purposes. First, it is a great way to promote the upcoming 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, which is the regional qualifying tournament for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The CONCACAF Women’s Championship will be televised across multiple Fox platforms starting October 4.
Alex Morgan also puts another female voice on Fox’s soccer coverage. The network earned praise for the prominent roles it gave female analysts in both studio and play-by-play coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
FS1’s MLS play-by-play crew of John Strong and Stu Holden also serve as their broadcast’s halftime hosts. Morgan will only be there for halftime to react to the action and reports from Katie Witham on the sidelines.
