Much has been made about Lebron’s move to the West Coast and the impact it has on network partners choosing their primetime NBA matchups. On the eve of the least watched Super Bowl in a decade, NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC came through with a 3.2 metered market rating for the Warriors win over Lebron’s Lakers. The number was a 52% increase over last year’s Cavs/Rockets game in the same time slot. In what’s been a slow first half of the season concerning eyeballs, Saturday’s Golden State – Lakers broadcast was the fifth highest rated NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC ever.
The NBA and ABC will look to string two good weeks together Saturday when the Rockets head north to take on Russell Westbrook and the Thunder.
