ESPN and Top Rank Boxing Promotions have reached an agreement to extend their current boxing partnership. A press release from ESPN calls the new deal “the most comprehensive, exclusive rights agreement in the history of boxing”.
Top Rank will stage 54 fights per year for ESPN. Some will be televised on ESPN television. Others will be streamed through ESPN+. The agreement will also see Top Rank create exclusive studio content for ESPN and give the company access to classic fights to air on ESPN Classic.
The live events breakdown per year as follows:
- 18 events on ESPN
- 12 exclusive, prime time events on ESPN+
- 24 premium international events on ESPN+
- Undercard coverage of all 54 events on ESPN+
A series of new studio programming and on-demand access to a selection of classic fights including Pacquiao/Mayweather, Ali/Forman, and all three Alli/Frazier bouts will be available to ESPN+ subscribers.
