Lineup Changes Confirmed at The Team 980

Rumored lineup changes at The Team 980 in Washington DC are becoming official.  After a report last week that multiple hosts could be on their way out, two have confirmed the rumors on Twitter.

Morning hosts Chris Cooley and Kevin Sheehan were among the five rumored cuts along with midday host Bram Weinstein and afternoon hosts Scott Jackson and Rick “Doc” Walker.  “Will miss [The Team 980] so much.  Memories and friends forever.  I’ll be around.” tweeted Kevin Sheehan Thursday evening.

Sheehan co-hosted the morning show with former Redskin tight-end Chris Cooley.  While Cooley has not confirmed if he was cut from the station, neither host was on the air this week at 980, the flagship station of the Washington Redskins.

11am – 1pm host Bram Weinstein also has not confirmed is he’s no longer with the radio station.  The former SportsCenter anchor has continued to co-host his television show on Fox 5 DC, but has been MIA from The Team 980 since his last show Tuesday, July 31st.

Co-hosts of Inside the Locker Room, 980’s 1-4pm weekday show, Rick “Doc” Walker and Scott Jackson were not on the air this week, with Walker tweeting Thursday afternoon, only saying “It’s true!”  The third host of Inside the Locker Room, Brian Mitchell, appears to have survived the cuts and has continued to be featured on 980 since the changes began taking place.

This past week Al Galdi has hosted the morning show from 7-10am followed by Al Koken, Chris Knoche, Fred Smoot and Scott Linn splitting up the middays. The one constant in the lineup for 980 has been Steve Czaban who remained hosting his afternoon drive show from 4-7pm.

  1. been a listener since sports talk 980 what a total mess by new management guess I’ll tune in to the other sports channel from now on.

  2. Doc and Cooley provided the best coverage of the Redskins on air in D.C. And just before the start of the season. It didn’t take but a minute for new ownership to screw it all up. Bye to the Team 980.
