KNBR is adding a Super Bowl champ to its coverage of the San Francisco 49ers. Dennis Brown, who played defensive end for the Niners in the early 90s, has signed on to co-host the station’s pregame and postgame broadcasts.
Brown, who is a California native, was a three-time All Pac 10 defensive lineman at the University of Washington. He was also a second team AP All-American. He was taken by the 49ers with the 47th pick of the 1990 NFL Draft. He spent all seven seasons of his NFL career in San Francisco. His pro career highlights included being named the team’s Gold Rush Rookie of the Year in 1990 and winning Super Bowl XXIX in 1995.
Brown will join 49ers play-by-play team of Tim Ryan and Ted Robinson and KNBR hosts Larry Kruger, John Lund, and Ryan Covay for the station’s pre- and postgame broadcasts. 2018 will mark the 14th year that Cumulus’s KNBR has been the radio home of the San Francisco 49ers.
