WUMP in Huntsville, Alabama has announced a new morning show featuring station PD and market veteran Arky Shea alongside former Auburn defensive back and NFL veteran Jerraud Powers. The show will be called Lockdown Coverage. It debuts August 27.
Shea was part of WUMP’s previous morning show The Cube Show along with Cole Cubelic of the SEC Network. The show was twice recognized as the state’s best morning show by the Alabama Broadcasters Association. It ended in March when Cubelic left Huntsville to join Jox 94.5 in Birmingham. Since that time Shea has served as the station’s afternoon co-host alongside Thom Abraham.
Jerraud Powers retired from the NFL in April 2017. He played eight seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. Powers said, in a press release, that he is excited to transition into the broadcasting world. “I’ve always enjoyed sharing my opinions in every sport and now to get to do it professionally, I couldn’t be more excited”.
WUMP currently airs The Roundtable in morning drive. That show originates from Jox 94.5 in Birmingham.
