Georgia State Moves Games to Entercom Stations

Georgia State University and Entercom have reached a multi-year agreement, to broadcast all football, men’s and women’s basketball on 92.9 The Game (WZGC-FM) and News & Talk 1380 (WAOK-AM) in Atlanta.

All football games will be broadcast on 92.9 The Game, with WAOK-AM 1380 carrying Georgia State University basketball for Entercom.

“We are pleased to join the Entercom team as a new avenue to provide more game coverage and market our teams throughout the metro Atlanta area,” said Charlie Cobb, Director of Athletics, Georgia State University. “This agreement offers us more promotional exposure while working with the leader in the Atlanta sports market.”

As part of the agreement, 92.9 The Game will also carry weekly interviews with Georgia State football coach Shawn Elliott on Mornings with John and Hugh which airs weekdays from 6-10am ET.  The station’s afternoon show, Dukes and Bell, will be joined by men’s basketball coach Ron Hunter for a weekly spot.

A 90-minute Panther Pregame show will precede all home football games, road games will offer a 30-minute pregame show.  Previously, Panther football pregame shows were two-hours.  Head Coach Shawn Elliott will be available for an interview on all pre and post-game shows.

This agreement with Georgia State University is another step in that direction and we look forward to an exciting season with an excellent sports program.”

Veteran broadcaster, Dave Cohen returns for his 36th season as the play-by-play voice for Panther Athletics.  Cohen is partnered with former Atlanta Falcons, Sam Crenshaw and Harper LeBel in the booth.  Cohen also works on the radio broadcasts for Panther basketball and baseball.
