Four-time NBA Champion and current analyst on TNT, Shaquille O’Neal is expanding his role with PodcastOne. O’Neal began hosting “The Big Podcast with Shaq” on the network in 2015 and will now be promoted to “General” of PodcastOne.
PodcastOne is an advertiser-supported podcast network started by Westwood One founder Norm Pattiz and is the home to over 200 podcasts, including programs hosted by Adam Carolla, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shaquille O’Neal. Podcasts are free to consumers, but a premium membership is available offering listeners exclusive interviews.
“As someone who wears one of Shaq’s championship rings on my finger, I know, firsthand, of his passion for success. There is no one bigger – in size or spirit. Shaq will stand for everything PodcastOne Sportsnet is – quality, sports IQ, big fun and a connection to fans everywhere,” said founder and CEO Norman Pattiz.
Under his new role as “General,” Shaq will continue his current podcast while working to promote the network, increasing its following and fan engagement. Consumers will have the opportunity to further interact with the network via PodcastOne’s new app.
“I have a blast doing my podcast every week,” said O’Neal. “And I always like to have my hand in the hottest businesses. Podcasting continues to heat up and now is the time for me to take the next step into the space.”
