NBC Sports Network will televise the first round of the NHL Draft on Friday. Digital coverage can be found on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
Liam McHugh and Kathryn Tappen will anchor the draft live from Dallas along with analyst Pierre McGuire. NHL insiders Bob McKenzie, Craig Button, and Darren Dreger will be part of the broadcast as well.
Coverage plans include a draft edition of NHL Live starting at 7pm Eastern. It will feature segments highlighting some of the draft’s top prospects including Oliver Wahlstrom, who gained some fame at age nine for a trick shot he performed before a Boston Bruins game. The draft itself begins at 7:30.
The Buffalo Sabres hold the first pick of this year’s NHL Draft and are expected to select Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin. The Carolina Hurricanes, Montreal Canadians, Ottawa Senators, and Arizona Coyotes round out the top five.
