In a blog post on his website, Washington DC radio host Steve Czaban says his run with Gow Media has come to an end. Czaban had hosted the morning show on Sporting News Radio, Yahoo Sports Radio, and now SB Nation Radio, but was informed on Monday afternoon that the network intends to go in a different direction in morning drive.
Czaban says that his contract with the company expired in August and the two sides had been working on a new one. He will continue hosting afternoons locally in DC on ESPN 980.
In his blog, Czaban thanked David Gow, Craig Larson, and the rest of the network for 6 great years. He said the company treated him well, and let him do his type of show. As much as he says he’ll miss bringing energy and fun to mornings, he acknowledged that an opportunity to sleep in wasn’t such a bad idea.
He wrapped up his post by saying that he has no regrets, and that the show may not have been the best one out there, but it was unique and necessary, and there was no other program like it.
