For 18+ years, Bob Picozzi has been one of the best sports update anchors in the nation. He’s been consistent, enjoyable to listen to, and always prepared and informed. When Mike Greenberg or Mike Golic would seek additional contributions from him during their morning show, he was ready to add something valuable. But he also knew his role, embraced it, and executed it to the best of his abilities.
In recent years, the talented ESPN Radio update anchor has been pulling double duty. He’s stayed involved as an anchor at the network, while adding play by play duties on ESPN game broadcasts. Although he’s enjoyed the challenge of doing both, he made a personal decision two years ago to give up one of those roles when his contract expired.
Today, Bob announced that he’s elected to give up delivering sports updates on ESPN Radio. Instead, he will focus his time and efforts on being a play by play broadcaster. He shared the details on his Facebook page.
BSM congratulates Bob on an incredible run at ESPN Radio. His contributions were appreciated and recognized by everyone who worked with him and listened to him during the past two decades.
