The Big Lead is reporting that Michelle Beisner-Buck will host feature stories on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, a role which was previously held by Rick Reilly. Reilly had done features for Monday Night Football’s pregame show since 2013. An ESPN spokesperson confirmed to The Big Lead that Reilly no longer works at the network.
Beisner-Buck has done features for Sunday NFL Countdown for the past two seasons, and says she’s looking forward to the larger stage. “It’s the only gig in town,” she said. “You’ve got a captive audience. On Monday night if you’re a fan of the NFL, you’ll be watching us. Rick is very talented, and he’ll be missed. I’m honored that [ESPN NFL senior coordinating producer] Seth Markman is giving me the opportunity to fill those big shoes.”
She hasn’t decided yet which stories she’ll present but says she’s excited to show her range, and there isn’t any idea that she won’t consider. The goal she adds is to offer a combination of lighter, smile stories, and a few which cause the audience to reach for their box of tissues.
