According to a memo obtained by LARadio.com, and distributed by Peter Burton, Market Manager of 100.3 The Sound (KSWD), the Los Angeles Rams will have their games broadcast on two local radio stations starting this season. 100.3 The Sound will be the FM provider, and ESPN 710 will be the AM supplier. The Rams were previously broadcast on 101 ESPN in St. Louis prior to relocating to Southern California.
The report states that this will be the first time in Los Angeles radio history that NFL football is broadcast on the FM dial. It also allows the Rams to reach two different audiences – hardcore sports fans, and casual observers who listen to classic rock music.
The Rams will begin play this fall in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. They are expected to move into a new stadium in Inglewood in 2019.
