In late October, 104.3 The Fan Program Director, and morning host Nate Lundy was unexpectedly let go. Despite five years, and solid ratings, the Denver sports station sought to go in a different direction.
Since his departure, two additional radio stations have entered the sports format in Denver, but Lundy wasn’t hired by either of them. Sources say there was interest, but a local non-compete complicated the situation.
Well, despite a few short-term challenges, Lundy has landed on his feet. He announced today on his Facebook page that he’ll be joining Yahoo Sports Radio and hosting middays 10a-12p ET for the network. His arrival means Joe Spano will no longer host the midday program.
Lundy is expected to host the show from Denver. Altitude Sports 950, which recently launched on April 6th, is a Yahoo Sports Radio affiliate, and whether or not this paves the way for the two sides to work together in the future remains to be seen. There is also the possibility of extending the relationship through Altitude’s television channel. Nate recently taped a television pilot with Brad Evans for a fantasy football show.
