CBS Sports Network, Navy and the American Athletic Conference have announced a 10-year agreement, keeping the network as the home for Navy football through the 2027 season.
“Navy is an incredible partner and our relationship with the institution and the American Athletic Conference continues to remain of utmost importance to CBS Sports,” said executive vice president of programming for CBS Sports Dan Weinberg in the press release. “We are thrilled to extend our partnership and showcase the best of Navy athletics and their student-athletes.”
The extended agreement will continue to provide Navy football to a national audience. Navy and CBS originally signed on as multimedia partners in 2005 with games being broadcast on the CBS College Sports Network.
“I am very pleased that we will continue this long-standing partnership with our great friends at CBS,” Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk said. “Over the years, CBS has played an integral role in producing a wonderful story that is Navy football and the Naval Academy. Another decade of sharing our midshipmen with the nation through the eyes of CBS productions for our home games is exciting and much appreciated.”
CBS Sports Network will also televise a variety of additional Navy home sporting events, including basketball, baseball and lacrosse. Last year, Army-Navy agreed to a separate 10-year deal for all broadcast, cable and digital rights to the game through 2028.
Navy football begins its 2018 season against Hawaii. The game airs at 11pm ET on CBS Sports Network.
