Last season FOX Sports presented a commercial-free broadcast of the St. John’s vs. Seton Hall women’s basketball game. FOX announced they will provide the same telecast this season for two Big East basketball games, one men’s and one women’s.
“FOX Sports is excited to expand upon our commitment to broadcast innovation with our partners at the BIG EAST Conference,” said FOX Sports President, Production & Executive Producer John Entz. “We’d like to thank the four participating coaches, as well as BIG EAST Commissioner Val Ackerman, for the support they’ve given us and the willingness to collaborate they’ve shown us from Day 1 of our partnership. We can’t wait to build upon last season’s success and showcase these four programs in an incredibly unique way.”
The two commercial-free games will be the Creighton at Seton Hall women’s game next Tuesday, January 2nd 7pm ET on FS2 and the Providence at DePaul men’s basketball game Friday, January 12th at 8:30pm on FS1.
“The BIG EAST is thrilled to be able to build on the success of last season’s women’s all-access game by partnering with our colleagues at FOX Sports for two more games this season,” said Rick Gentile, BIG EAST Senior Associate Commissioner, Broadcasting. “We look forward to continuing to help our partners push the broadcast innovation envelope.”
The commercial-free telecast provides fans the opportunity to receive more access and game coverage. Coaches will be mic’d up so viewers can hear sideline and locker room discussions. FOX Sports GO offers two additional streams during the game, with a camera and audio focused on each head coach the entire game. Those streams can be accessed at FOXSportsGO.com as well as the FOX Sports GO app.
