Jim Rome hinted in September on the BSM Podcast that extending his presence on television was a priority. Today, the CBS Sports Network made that a reality by confirming plans to feature Rome’s radio program on television starting January 2, 2018.
The arrangement calls for all three hours of Rome’s show (weekdays 12p-3p ET) to air on the network. Rome will build a new studio to make the program more visually attractive. The addition of Rome’s program to CBS’ schedule means the network will now feature three radio programs on television (Tiki and Tierney and Boomer Esiason’s morning show also air on the channel).
“Jim is an engaging and dynamic host with an incredibly loyal and passionate fan base,” Dan Weinberg, executive vice president of programming at CBS Sports told Variety. “We are excited to provide one of sports talk radio’s most enduring programs a new national platform on television.”
Rome has been with CBS since 2012, and remains involved as a contributor on CBS’ Sunday-afternoon staple, “The NFL Today.”
