Sportsnet 650 in Vancouver has unveiled their afternoon show, which will officially debut when the radio station launches on September 4th. The station will feature 590 The Fan Toronto host Andrew Walker alongside B.C. Lions play-by-play voice Scott Rintoul.
“Scott is well known and very well respected in Vancouver,” said PD Craig MacEwen. “He has been immersed in the Vancouver sports scene for more than 15 years and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to welcome him back to the Sportsnet team.”
McEwen also weighed in on Walker, adding “Andrew has been a mainstay at Sportsnet 590 The Fan in Toronto for nearly five years. He is a dynamic personality with a terrific sense of humor. Both Andrew and Scott have a wealth of sports broadcasting experience and will be a great fit for our audience.”
The Vancouver sports talker has already landed the radio rights to the Vancouver Canucks, and announced their morning show. The station will wake up local listeners with James Cybulski, Mira Laurence and Steve Darling. Middays are yet to be announced but former TSN 1040 producer Satiar Shah is rumored to be part of the mix.
