Tyler Polumbus earned a weekday talk show host opportunity with 104.3 The Fan in Denver in February. That performance impressed enough people to help land him a bigger opportunity just a few months later.
The Denver native and former Broncos tackle is leaving his daily show with Cecil Lammey on 104.3 The Fan to join iHeartRadio Denver where he’ll assume the role of 850 KOA’s sideline reporter during Denver Broncos radio broadcasts. He’s also expected to add a daily show in the near future on one of iHeart’s local radio stations.
Polumbus played high school football in the Denver area for Cherry Creek High before moving on to enjoy a stellar four year career at the University of Colorado. He signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and played eight seasons with four different teams, including earning a Super Bowl 50 ring with Denver, before retiring in 2016.
In addition to adding Polumbus to the broadcast team, iHeart is also bringing on board Rick Lewis to serve as the in-game analyst for Broncos broadcasts. Lewis fills the void left by Ed McCaffrey and will work alongside longtime radio play-by-play announcer Dave Logan. KOA has served as the Broncos flagship station for 48 years.
“I’m honored to be named the new color commentator for the Broncos with Dave Logan,” said Lewis. “This is a dream job for me!”
