ESPN Announces Its NFL Draft Plans

Get ready for a whole lot of Trey Wingo! The popular ESPN host of NFL Live will host all three days of ESPN’s 2017 NFL Draft coverage. The show begins on Thursday, April 27, at 8p ET, and continues thru the draft’s conclusion on Saturday April 29th.

For the 1st round, Wingo will be joined on set by NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr., Monday Night Football analyst and Super Bowl-winning head coach Jon Gruden, and NFL Front Office Insider Louis Riddick.

For rounds 2-7, NFL Draft analyst and director of college football scouting for ESPN’s Scouts Inc., Todd McShay will take over for Gruden, and contribute alongside Wingo, Kiper and Riddick.

In addition to its main crew, ESPN will also have a heavy presence of reporters contributing to the program. NFL Insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter will appear as breaking news unfolds. NFL host Suzy Kolber will conduct interviews in the green room with draftees, and reporters Jeff DarlingtonBritt McHenry, Sal Paolantonio, Josina Anderson and Ed Werder will contribute from various locations.

ESPN will also provide a live radio broadcast of Rounds 1-3. Dari Nowkhah will host the program with Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL Front Office Insider Bill Polian, NFL Insider John Clayton and ESPN New York’s Chris Canty.

All of the network’s programming is expected to originate from the NFL Draft Theatre at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia.
