One of the Bay Area’s most popular broadcasting duos will be staying together a while longer. The San Francisco Giants have announced they’ve signed Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper to multi-year contract extensions.
“I am thrilled that two of the most treasured Giants of all time – Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper – will remain in the Giants broadcast booth for the foreseeable future,” said San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Baer. “Kruk and Kuip do more than just broadcast our games. They are the connection between the Giants and many of our fans who follow us on our broadcasts. They turn every game into a family get-together and they create a narrative that goes way beyond what happens on the field.”
Kruk and Kuip as they’re affectionately known to Giants fans are entering their 24th season of working together on NBC Sports Bay Area broadcasts. Kuiper will also work on KNBR broadcasts, while Krukow will remain busy as the color analyst on the club’s NBC Bay Area telecasts as well as on KNBR.
“I am ecstatic about this new contract with the San Francisco Giants,” said Kuiper. “I am thrilled to be able to work with three of my best friends and to continue to have the opportunity to be part of a tremendous organization like the Giants.”
Added Krukow, “I’m thrilled to continue to be able to tell the story of the San Francisco Giants. I am so proud of our broadcast team and all the people that put on Giants baseball.”
