ESPN will have Michelle Beadle and Sage Steele split hosting duties on ESPN’s NBA Countdown this season according to a report from The Big Lead. ESPN declined commenting on the story.
Steele served as host of Countdown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while Doris Burke hosted the program on Wednesdays. Moving forward, Beadle will work on Wednesday and Friday, and Steele will step in on Saturdays and Sundays.
As part of the move, Steele is expected to have a bigger presence on the road, anchoring SportsCenter’s when the show travels. She’ll broadcast live from big events including the World Series, Super Bowl, Masters and NFL Draft.
Doris Burke is taking on an expanded role as an analyst and reporter for NBA broadcasts, as well as men’s and women’s college basketball games. In the past, Beadle, who will remain on SportsNation, has occasionally filled in on Countdown.
