WTMJ and the Milwaukee Brewers Extend Rights Deal

The Milwaukee Brewers will be staying on WTMJ-AM (620) for the foreseeable future according to the Milwaukee Business Journal. The two parties announced on Wednesday that they have extended their radio-rights agreement. Terms were not disclosed, but the new arrangement covers a multi-year period. The prior agreement was in place through the 2016 season.

WTMJ, has been the Brewers flagship station for all but two seasons since the team moved to Milwaukee in 1970. Bob Uecker will remain the anchor of the broadcasts, with Jeff Levering, and Lane Grindle, also contributing.

As a result of extending the agreement with the Brewers, WTMJ remains the provider of all of Wisconsin’s big-league sports teams including the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

“WTMJ is a heritage brand in Milwaukee, and they are committed to activating all of their resources to make this a terrific partnership with our organization,” Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger said in a press release.
