To make room for “The Professor” John Clayton, 710 ESPN Seattle had to make a few adjustments. One of those moves involved parting ways with midday host Justin Myers, and reassigning his on-air partner Gee Scott. Although Scott was retained, his future role was still being determined.
Now, that answer has been provided.
710 ESPN Seattle has announced that they will expand their local programming to 14 hours per day, and feature Scott weeknights from 7 to 9 pm PT. In addition, Scott will host “Seahawks Weekly” during the football season, fill in on other shows and write regularly for the radio station’s website 710Sports.com.
“I’m looking forward to taking listeners behind the curtain to see what it’s really like in the player’s locker room,” Scott said in the station’s press release. “This new opportunity will allow Seattle sports fans to feel more connected to their favorite players than ever before.”
Gee will make his evening debut during the week of June 13th. The show will air live when not preempted by Mariners games.
“This show will be a great complement to the rest of the 710 ESPN Seattle lineup,” program director Mike Salk said. “Gee has a special relationship with both listeners and players. He is so adept at bringing those two worlds together in a compelling way.”
