A developing news story out of Raleigh. Buzz Sports Radio has announced changes to its morning drive program.
The station will move “The Sports Shop with Reese & Kmac” from middays to mornings starting Tuesday July 5th. The popular Urban sports talk program is the first African-American sports talk morning show in the Raleigh-Durham market. The show will air weekdays from 6a-9a ET.
Dennis Glasgow, Capitol Broadcasting sports radio operations manager and program director says, “We’ve wanted to bring more diversity to our listeners that would reflect the Raleigh-Durham population, and we will do that by bringing a very entertaining and energetic show with ‘The Sports Shop.’”
“The Sports Shop” co-host Erroll Reese said, “We are very excited and humbled to be taking the show to the next level with the move to morning drive. We are very happy to have the confidence of Capitol Broadcasting behind our show.”
With “The Sports Shop” shifting to mornings, “Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio” will take over the midday slot. Mike Maniscalco and Demetri Ravanos who were part of the previous morning show have left the radio station.
Lauren Brownlow who had also been part of the morning team will remain with the station in a contributor role appearing on both The Fan (99.9 FM) and The Buzz. In addition to her radio appearances, Brownlow will continue to contribute to WRALSportsFan.com where she has established herself as one of the premiere sports writers in the market. In 2015, Brownlow’s articles generated over 300,000 views/reads.
