Charles Barkley is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame. Shaquille O’Neal soon will be. Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson are not. But collectively, they will share residence inside the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.
On Wednesday night, the cast of “Inside the NBA” were honored for the contributions they’ve made to sports television. Two representatives from the Hall of Fame appeared on the TNT set to present the crew with the announcement, and extend an official invitation to the award ceremony.
“Inside the NBA” is in the midst of its 27th season, and is widely viewed as the best basketball program on television. It’s earned nine Emmy Awards, including two studio analyst Emmys for Barkley, and three studio host honors for Johnson.
