Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward got taste of the media life working alongside Bob Costas on Sunday Night Football. But although he enjoyed talking football, the thought of branching out into other areas and developing his skills as an all-purpose broadcaster had stronger appeal.
Now, Ward is going to get an opportunity to do that while working for Turner. According to The Wrap, Hines will become a regular contributor on HLN’s “Morning Express With Robin Meade” and an analyst across all CNN platforms.
“I’m really excited. I feel like I’m going from nationwide to worldwide, and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for this opportunity,” Ward said. “I have a tremendous opportunity with CNN. I’ve always seen myself as more than just a football player. I’ve done so many things in my short life and have a lot to share.”
Ward is scheduled to begin his new role on July 1st.
